CLOCKWISE

Clockwise emerged in Vila Nova de Gaia as a duo made up of José Machado and Rui Moura, who since the late 1980s had been travelling the so-called live music bar circuit, performing covers of other bands. They composed some originals and thought it was time to move on to a new stage in their career. They looked for company and founded Clockwise. From then on, the group played all over the country, while composing material that, after being recorded in successive demos, would serve as the basis for their debut album, "Time Is Waiting", which was recorded in 1997 with the following line-up: José Machado vocals/ bass, Rui Moura guitar, Carlos Lopes keyboards, Helder Silva drums. The ten songs CD was recorded at the Porto da Musica and Rec`n`Roll studios by the well-known Barros ‘Brothers’ of Tarantula (Luis and Paulo). Right after the album comes out, Clockwise changed their line-up, Paulo Andrade joined the band on bass, and Helder was replaced by João Moura. The album comes out in February 1998. On 7 May, it was presented at the Hard Club venue, followed by various TV promotions.
