Atomic Mushrooms were formed in September 1982, in Amadora, by Orlando Matias guitar.
With some changes in the line up, finally stabilized with Joaquim Andrade drums, Tó-Zé Alho vocals, Nuno Almeida guitar and
João Carlos Lopes bass. They perform live for the first time on July 16th 1983, at the Sociedade Filarmónica in Amadora, opening for Arte & Manhas. Followed by two more shows, both at Amadora`s fair. After that Nuno is replaced by João Carlos Silva (ex-Tectus Falsus). The group continues to play live and in 1984
change the name to STS Paranoid.
