EXOMORTIS


Exomortis were from Leiria. Formed in 1991 with the line up of Joaquim Jorge vocals, Miguel Felicia drums, Luis Filipe bass and guitarrists Sérgio Cardoso and Paulo Ascenso. They would record their first demo tape entitled "From Darkness to Darkness" in 1991. Composed of 6 tracks: "Intro / Ancient Tomb", "Petrified Pleasures", "A Tribute to Thrash (instrumental)", "The Abscess", "Enslavement of Obscurity" and "Psychotic Aberrance". The track "Reflections of The Last Memory" is released in the double LP compilation "The Birth of a Tragedy" MTM records, in 1992. Exomortis played at the Pernelhas festival, March 7th 1992. A 2nd demo is recorded in late 1993, with the songs "As a Stone", "Gift of Life", "Dream of Deception", "D.S.M." and "Words of Insane". Eventually the group changed line up, entering Fernando Silva vocals, Sérgio Cardoso bass and Fernando Silva guitar.

NECRO TERROR


From Sto Antonio dos Cavaleiros, Necro Terror arises through an accident, a joke among some members of Extreme Unction. When, sometime in 1991, a group of friends joined in a rehearsal room for fun, all of the elements enjoyed Grind Core. Of this essay, appeared a series of songs, heavily influenced by Napalm Death, Sore Throat, Unseen Terror, Agathocles, Blood, etc. Later, they decided to take that material, choose the best songs and combine them in a demo, which was called: "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". This work has not been marketed, was passed to friends and interested. However, the demo was circulating freely by lovers of the genre without any control. From this mad afternoon registration test…

DESTRUCTION ANGEL FANZINE/ M.D.W. FAN-CLUB


Lead by João, Victor, Nuno and Rui, the Metal Destruction Warriors Fan-Club released the fanzine Destruction Angel in 1988.







JUIZO FINAL-FEITICEIROS DO OCULTO FANZINE


Juízo Final-Feiticeiros do Oculto (Final Judgement-Wizards of the Occult) fanzine was from the north of Portugal, more precisely Espinho. Lead by Carlos Guimarães.




DELIRIO METALICO FANZINE


Another fanzine, this one from Amadora with Andre Toscano and Antonio Nobre part of the stuff. Delirio Metalico (Delirium Metallic) issue#1 was launched in 1990.

METAL POWER FANZINE/ BRIGADA METAL POWER FAN-CLUB

          

The fan-club Brigada Metal Power and fanzine Metal Power was from the North of Portugal, more precisely Matosinhos. Directed by José Santos and Antonio Calisto, released the 1st issue of the fanzine in 1986. Brigada Metal Power was also Tarântula`s fan-club.



                  



CRUEL HATE


Cruel Hate were from Aveiro. Formed in November 1989 the line up was Paulo Pacheco and Rui D'Oliveira guitars, Carlos Bento vocals, Mário da Costa drums and Alberto Calé bass. In 1990, Cruel Hate make a self-made demo called "Imminent Destiny", but due to poor quality the band doesn´t released it. On July of 1991 the band played live for the first time at their home town. In March of 1992 the band recorded "Dying In Fear" at the professional studios Rec & Roll with the production of Luis Barros (Tarantula drummer). 5 songs were part of the demo: "War With No Pain", "Blindness", "Atomic Calamaty", "Times of Despair" and "Living In Fear". September 5th they played at Praia da Barra, Ílhavo. October 1992 they are invited to perform at the first Heavy Metal Festival Of Penafiel, along with W.C. Noise and Inkisição for 1200 fans. In 1993 the band decided to record another demo tape, a 4-track called "Beyond Beliefs". "Beyond Beliefs", "Tormented Cries", "Perpetual Riot" and "Condemned To Live" were produced again by Luis Barros at Rec & Roll studios.

EXPLOSÃO


Explosão were from Torres Novas. Formed around 1987, the line up consisted in Zé Pedro bass, Rui Calado vocals, Ninu drums Paulo "Bode" guitar and Quim "Russo" guitar. Songs like "Tripe", "Menina Mania", "Beatinha" and "Despertador" were part of their repertoire. A 2 track demo was released in 1987, "Explosão" and "Venci o Teu Discipulo". Their 2nd demo tape at the beginning of 1988, "Armas Nucleares". The demo consisted on a studio (rehearsal) side with the tracks "Intro", "Armas Nucleares", "Pó... Cuidado", and a live side recorded in Aveiro, November 2nd 1987, "Coisas Que Se Passam" and "Criticos". Meanwhile Zé Pedro is replaced by Nuno Samartinho and they played in Porto, March 18th and 19th and in Tomar, May 21th. The group split up at the end of 1988, beginning of 1989.
